Guide Rails and Mounting Carrier

Removing

• The guide rails - 1 - and the mounting carrier - 2 - form one unit.

• The cable and the sunroof mechanical system are integrated in this component and can not be replaced individually.






- Remove the glass panel for the panorama sliding/tilting sunroof. Refer to => [ Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof ] Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof.

- Remove headliner..

- Disconnect the connector - 3 - from the glass panel drive motor for the panorama sliding/tilting sunroof.

- Mark the guide rail bracket on the frame - 4 -.

A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- Remove the bolts - 5 - and - 6 -.

- Slightly lower the guide rails - 1 - and mounting carrier - 2 - in the rear first with a second technician.

- Finally, pull the guide rails - 1 - and the mounting carrier - 2 - a little towards the rear out of the frame - 4 - and then remove them from the vehicle.

• Do not use or bend the guide rails and the mounting carrier as there is no brace installed in the front area.

Installation

• The guide rails - 1 - and the mounting carrier - 2 - form one unit.

• The cable and the sunroof mechanical system are integrated in this component and can not be replaced individually.






• Do not use or bend the guide rails and the mounting carrier as there is no brace installed in the front area.

- Install the guide rails - 1 - and mounting carrier - 2 - in the frame - 4 - from behind and with a second technician.

- Attach the guide rails - 1 - and the rear mounting carrier - 2 - to the frame - 4 -.

- Tighten the bolts - 5 - and - 6 - hand tight, but do not fully tighten the yet.

- Align the guide rails - 1 - and mounting carrier - 2 - according to the markings on the frame - 4 -.

- Tighten bolts - 5 - and - 6 - to tightening specification.

Bolts - 5 -: 3 Nm

Bolts - 6 -: 2.5 Nm

- Connect the connector - 3 - to the glass panel drive motor for the panorama sliding/tilting sunroof.

- Install headliner..

- Install the glass panel for the panorama sliding/tilting sunroof. Refer to => [ Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof ] Glass Panel for Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof.

- Perform an adaption for the glass panel for the panorama sliding/tilting sunroof. Refer to => [ Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof, Adaptation Procedure ] Panorama Sliding/Tilting Sunroof, Adaptation Procedure.
