Backrest Release Cable, Adjusting

Ensure backrest is engaged (zero position), otherwise it can tip forward uncontrolled.

The following prerequisites must be met to adjust:

The upholstery must be removed from the backrest.

The pins (release pins) - 2 - on both sides must be locked (delivery position, i.e. basic position).






- Tilt the bracket - 1 - up so there is a distance of - a - = 2 to 4 mm between the backrest frame stop surface - arrow A - and the bracket stop ridge - arrow B -.






- Secure the bracket - 1 - in this position.

The illustration does not show the side cable adjuster.

- Adjust both of the release cable adjusters - arrows - for the release cables - 1 - and - 2 -.






- To adjust, turn the upper part - arrow B - and lower part - arrow A - of the release cable adjuster against each other.

- Adjust the cable so it is free of play and tension.

The illustration only shows one side of the retainer.

When adjusting cables - 1 -, they must not be tensioned at release pins - 2 -.






- After adjusting release cables, check function of backrest lock.

- If it does not release or only releases partially, check the release cable routing or repeat the adjustment.
