Headlamps, Adjusting

When checking the installation position of the headlamp, if the gaps between the headlamp and body are uneven, the installation position must be corrected.

It is not necessary to remove the front bumper to aim the headlamps.

• Illustrations depict left headlamp.

• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove the key.

Procedure

- Loosen the screw - arrow - on the top of the headlamp.






- Remove the bolt - arrow - on the access cover - 1 - and remove the access cover - 1 -.






- Loosen the bolts - arrows - on the rear headlamp.






- Turn the adjusting bushing - arrow - on the headlamp to adjust the headlamp so that it is flush with the vehicle body.






- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ Halogen Headlamps Overview ] Halogen Headlamps Overview or => [ HID Headlamps Overview ] HID Headlamps Overview.

- Check and correct the headlamp position and make sure the gap dimensions are even.

- Check headlamp for functions.

- Check headlamp adjustment and aim the headlamps. Refer to => [ Headlamp, Aiming ] Headlamp, Aiming.
