Technical Background

^ Improve audio quality for call recipient.

^ Change phonebook sort order from last name, first name to first name last name

Verify Bluetooth(R) Module Software

^ Connect Midtronics Incharge (INC-940) tester/charger to vehicle's battery.

^ Connect VAS tester to vehicle.

^ Switch ignition ON.

^ Select Vehicle Self Diagnosis.

^ Select On Board Diagnostics (OBD).

^ Select 77 - Telephone.

^ Verify the part number is 7P6035730F & software level is 2730.





Procedure

Update-Programming:





^ Update the Bluetooth Control Module using the SVM Unit code as listed in the table below:

^ Select Vehicle Self Diagnosis.

^ Select On Board Diagnostic (OBD).

^ Select 77 - Telephone.

^ Select 009 - Coding.

^ Select Master.

^ Select 009.01 Binary Coding.

^ At the login screen press the forward arrow.

Press "OK".

^ Highlight by tel.

For RNS 510 enter: "11 and select "Q".

All other radios: "10" and select "Q".

^ Highlightbyte2.

^ Enter "04" and select "Q". Press the forward arrow.

Click "OK".

^ Press the back arrow after complete.

^ Verify coding changed by accessing the coding screen again by following steps 5 thru 8.

^ Exit out of Vehicle Self Diagnosis

^ Continue to "Factory Reset of Phone System"

Pairing Customer Phone with Vehicle

1. Ask customer if they would like help pairing their phone with the vehicle.

2. Make sure the vehicle is stationary.

3. Make sure the cell phone is Bluetooth(R) enabled.

4. Switch ON the ignition. The Bluetooth(R) feature enters "discovery" mode for three minutes.

5. From the Bluetooth(R) menu on your phone, search for new devices.

6. Your cell phone should offer a list of devices for you to choose from. Select the device "VW Phone"

7. Enter the password "0000" into the phone. The phone should be connected to the Bluetooth(R) system.

8. If prompted to allow access to phone book on the phone, and the customer would like their phone book available on the vehicle, select allow.

9. If prompted by the phone to set as trusted device, select yes in order to enable the phones automatic reconnection.
