Transmission, Securing to the Engine and Transmission Holder

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Holding Fixture (VW 313)

• Holding Fixture (VW 540)

• Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095)

• Shop Crane - Load Cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100)








• Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling ] Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling.

- Secure the transmission to the holding fixture (VW 540) - arrows -.

- Install the transmission using the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100) to the holding fixture (VW 313) or the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

The center of gravity of the transmission is outside the center of rotation on the holding fixture. To prevent back swing, a second technician must hold the transmission housing when rotating the transmission on the holding fixture (VW 313).
