Transmission, Installing

- Make sure the alignment sleeves are pressed into the engine flange.

- Make sure the plate fits correctly between the engine and the transmission. The plate must contact the engine along the entire perimeter when pressing lightly against the engine using both hands. If it is above the engine, then it is not hooked into the cylinder block correctly.

- Make sure the torque converter is installed correctly. Refer to => [ Torque Converter, Installing ] Torque Converter, Installing.

Further installation is performed in the reverse sequence.

The engine and the transmission must be mounted in the subframe free of tension.

- Replace all the bolts for the transmission mount/bracket.

- First, install all new transmission mount bracket to transmission bolts by hand.

Then tighten the transmission mount bracket - A - to transmission bolts - 1 - to 40 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.






- Align the engine/transmission in its installed position. Lift until the transmission mount bracket is touching the transmission mount completely.

Risk of damaging the threads in the transmission mount bracket by installing the bolts crooked.

• Before installing the bolts - 2 -, the transmission mount bracket and transmission mount support arm must be absolutely parallel to each other. If necessary, lift the back of the transmission using the engine-/transmission jack.

Adjust the old fit between both bolts using a screwdriver when tightening the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts - 2 -. Tighten the two bolts to 60 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn.

Transmission to engine bolt tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Transmission to Engine Tightening Specifications ] Fastener Tightening Specifications - Controls, Housing.

- Install the pendulum support.

- Install the drive axles to the transmission.

- Install the exhaust system free of tension.

- Install the starter.

- Attach the power steering line clamps to the transmission.

- Install the coolant hoses to the transmission fluid cooler according the marks made during the removal.

- Install the selector lever cable to the transmission and adjust it. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Adjustments.

- Install the battery tray and the battery.

- Check the coolant level. Refer to Maintenance Procedures.

- Check the transmission fluid level, add as necessary. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling.

- Install the left front wheel housing liner.

- Install the noise insulation.

- Install the wheels.

- Install the engine cover with air filter.

- Perform a basic setting. Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and select "perform basic setting" under Guided Functions.
