Oil Pressure Switch, Checking

Checking the reduced oil pressure switch (F378) (brown):

- Turn off the engine.

- Connect the brown wire on the tester to ground (-).






- Connect voltage tester (V.A.G 1527 B) using adapter cables from the connector test set (V.A.G 1594 C) to battery positive (+) and the reduced oil pressure switch (brown).

• The Light Emitting Diode (LED) must not light up.

- If the LED lights up, replace the reduced oil pressure switch.

If the LED does not light up:

- Start the engine: The LED must light up at 0.55 to 0.85 bar. Replace the oil pressure switch if it does not.
