Alarm Horn (H12)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Drill (VAS 5134)

• To remove the alarm horn, anti-theft alarm system must be deactivated. Refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating, From 06.11 ] Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating and Deactivating, From 06.11.

The alarm horn (H12) is located inside the right front wheel housing.

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

- Remove the right front wheel housing liner.

- Drill out the heads on both blind rivets - arrows - using (VAS 5134).






- Disconnect the connector by inserting a small screwdriver through the opening in the housing and then remove the alarm horn - 3 - from the wheel housing.






- Remove the rest of the blind rivet - arrows - from the holes in the body.






Installing

• Remove any metal shavings or pieces of the blind rivet left over.

- Perform the necessary corrosion protection measures.

- Connect the connector to the alarm horn.

• For reasons of clarity, the alarm horn is not depicted in the following illustrations and thus the connector is not connected.

- Insert the clip - 2 - on the alarm horn into the body cut-out - 1 -.






- Attach the alarm horn to the body with new blind rivets.

- Install the right front wheel housing liner.
