Front Passenger Door Control Module (J387), Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B)
• The following system/component checks depend on vehicle equipment level and market version.
The following components and functions can be checked using the output diagnostic test mode of the door control module:
• Activation of front passenger's side switch illumination
• Activation of front passenger's side central locking system (activating)
• Activation of front passenger's side mirror functions (mirror heater and mirror fold-in function)
• Activation of the front passenger mirror turn signal ( front passenger exterior rearview mirror turn signal bulb (L132) )
• Activation of the front passenger interior ambient lighting ( front passenger entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror (W53) )
• Activation of front passenger's side window regulator (driving down)
• Activation of front passenger's side window regulator (driving up)
- Connect the (VAS 5051B).
- In the (VAS 5051B) , select the "Guided fault finding" operating mode.
- Using the "Go To" button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:
• Body
• Body repair procedures
• 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems
• Front passenger door electronics
• Front passenger door control module functions
• Front Passenger Door Control Module - output diagnostic test mode
