Windshield Wiper System

The Wiper motor control module (J400) and Windshield wiper motor (V) form a single unit.

To remove wiper blades, wiper arms must be driven into "service/winter position". The "service/winter position" is activated by operating the windshield wiper lever in the "single-wipe" position within 10 seconds of the ignition being switched off. Refer to the Owner's manual.






The wiper cannot be activated when the hood is open and the vehicle is at standstill.

DTC Recognition and Display

The Wiper motor control module (J400) is equipped with on board diagnostic capabilities which facilitate fault finding.

For fault finding, use the Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) in the "Guided fault finding" function.

The windshield wiper system can be tested with the output diagnostic test mode of the Vehicle electrical system control module (J519).
