Antenna Systems

Antenna system is installed in the rear lid.

It consists of several antenna modules and antenna wires in the rear lid.

An additional antenna amplifier is also installed.

In radio RCD 510 and radio/navigation system RNS 315 and RNS 510, diversity functions are integrated directly in the radio, no control module for antenna selection is installed in the vehicle.

On the Premium 7 (Premium Sound System) radio and on the radio navigation system RNS MFD 2 DVD, the antenna diversity functions for AM/FM radio reception are also installed directly in the unit, no additional antenna selection control module is installed in the vehicle.

The antenna system with diversity function serves to improve and optimize the reception quality in the vehicle.

• Before troubleshooting or servicing, the technicians must be familiar with the function and operation of the radio system.

• When the battery is reconnected, check any affected system or component (radio, clock, comfort electrical connection etc.) according to the repair information and/or the Owner's Manual.
