Anti-Theft Alarm System Sensor (G578)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

The anti-theft alarm system sensor includes the vehicle inclination sensor (G384) and the interior monitoring sensor (G273) (two sensors).

The anti-theft alarm system sensor (G578) cannot be disassembled.

When removing and installing components in visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), cover by taping the areas at which a prying tool ( (3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removing

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

- Remove the roof crossmember trim piece from the windshield.

- Unclip the wires - A -, - B - and - C - from the roof crossmember trim piece.






- Release the 3 catches - arrows - and remove the anti-theft alarm system sensor - 1 - from the roof crossmember trim piece. Pay attention to the wires still connected.

- Loosen the transmission and reception capsules for the interior monitoring - 2 -, - 3 - and - 4 - out of their retainers and remove them from the roof crossmember trim piece.

- Remove the anti-theft alarm system sensor - 1 - from the vehicle.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Insert the anti-theft alarm system sensor - 1 - into the mount in the roof crossmember trim piece and then lock it into place into the 3 catches.

- Insert the receiver capsule - 4 - (red wire) into the left mount and make sure it locks into place.






- Insert the transmitter capsule 2 - 3 - (gray wire) into the center mount and make sure it locks into place.

- Insert the transmitter capsule 1 - 2 - (green wire) into the right mount and make sure it locks into place.

- Clip the green wire from the transmission capsule 1 - 2 - into the retainers - A - and - B -.

- Clip the gray wire from the transmitter capsule 2 - 3 - into the retainer - C -.

- Clip the red wire from the receiver capsule - 4 - into the retainer - D -.
