Driver Door Control Module (J386), Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B)
• The following system/component checks depend on vehicle equipment level and market version.
The following components and functions can be checked using the output diagnostic test mode of the door control module:
• Activation of driver's side switch illumination
• Activation of driver's side central locking system (activating)
• Activation of driver's side mirror functions (mirror heater and mirror fold-in function)
• Activation of the driver mirror turn signal ( driver exterior rearview mirror turn signal bulb (L131) )
• Activation of driver interior ambient lighting ( driver entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror (W52) )
• Activation of driver's side window regulator (driving down)
• Activation of driver's side window regulator (driving up)
- Connect the (VAS 5051B).
- In the (VAS 5051B) , select the "Guided fault finding" operating mode.
- Using the "Go To" button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:
• Body
• Body repair procedures
• 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems
• Driver side door electronics
• Driver door control module functions
• Driver Door Control Module - output diagnostic test mode
