Roll Bar: Service Precautions

Rollover Protection Safety Precautions

Testing, removing, installing and repair work may only be performed by qualified personnel.

Battery Ground strap must be disconnected before performing any work on rollover protection.

After locking in lower position, rollover protection must have clearance of approx. 1 mm downward.

No one must be close to rollover protection when connecting battery (minimum distance approx. 1 m).

ALWAYS install rollover protection in vehicle as soon as it is removed from packaging.

NEVER leave rollover protection unattended!

When removed, store rollover protection lying down.

Roll-over protection must not be disassembled or repaired.

Roll-over protection that has fallen onto hard surface or shows signs of damage (above all on magnetic switch) must not be reinstalled.

When performing actuator test, do not place any objects on headrest.

When performing body repair work in area of rollover protection, always remove it.

After servicing body in vicinity of rollover protection, check body for welding beads, deformation and chafe marks (compare with opposite side of vehicle).

Persons in area of rollover protection can be injured when rollover protection is extending.

Ensure hand does not touch release lever when rollover protection is inserted - danger of injury!

Do not let fall objects into openings when rollover protection is extended. If that is the case, rollover protection should not be slid in under any circumstances.
