Headlamp Range Control Positioning Motor (V48)/(V49)

The left headlamp beam adjustment motor (V48) or right headlamp beam adjustment motor (V49) is installed next to the low beam headlamp bulb in the headlamp in a replaceable manner.

If the motors are removed and installed again or replaced, check the headlamp adjustment and adjust it again if necessary.

The following figures show the removal and installation of the left headlamp control motor. The removal and installation of the right headlamp control motor are identical.

Removal

- Remove headlamp. Refer to=> [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.

- Remove the cover - 2 - from the back of the headlamp.






- Unclip the 3 wires to the control motor from the wire securing mechanism - 3 -.






- Turn the headlamp beam adjustment motor - 4 - in the - direction of the arrow - to the stop.

- Tilt the ball head of the control motor - 2 - upward out of the mount in the headlamp - 1 - and remove the control motor - 4 - from the headlamp housing.

- Remove the harness connector - 1 - from the control motor - 2 -.






Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Install the harness connector on the control motor and insert the headlamp beam adjustment motor into the headlamp in the installation position.

- Tilt the ball head of the headlamp beam adjustment motor - 2 - from above into the mount - 1 - while pulling the reflector backward.






- Insert the control motor - 3 - into its mount and lock it by turning in the - direction of the arrow - to the stop.

- Clip the 3 wires to the control motor into the wire securing mechanism.

During installation, ensure proper seating of the cap. It is destroyed by entry of water into headlamp.

- Check headlamp for functions.

- Check the headlamp adjustment and adjust if necessary.
