Brake Testing With AWD, Testing Via Haldex Clutch

Brake Testing with AWD, Testing Via Haldex Clutch

Testing using an Opposite Running One Axle Dynamometer

Opposite running: The brake test 1 axle stand rollers are rotated on the one side forward and on the other side backward.

This prevents the brake forces from being transmitted into the Powertrain.

During testing, the wheel turning forward is measured, therefore 2 braking tests are necessary on each axle.

Do not exceed a test speed of 6 km/h (3 mph).

Volkswagen approved test stands meet these requirements.

Testing using a Standard One Axle Dynamometer

- Drive the vehicle forward onto the rollers.

- Turn off the engine and wait 2 seconds.

- Perform the brake test.

- Start the engine and wait approximately 5 seconds until there is enough vacuum.

- Drive the vehicle forward until the rear wheels are resting on the rollers.

- Turn off the engine and wait 2 seconds.

- Perform the brake test for the rear brakes.

- Start the engine and wait approximately 5 seconds until there is enough vacuum.
