Rear Side Airbag, 4-door

• Removal and installation is described for the right side of the vehicle. Removing and installing on the left side is identical.

Removing


Read the Safety Instructions for working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units. Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions.

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove the seat bench. Refer to => [ Bench Seat ] Bench Seat.

- Remove side upholstery with side airbag, 4-door, - 1 -. Refer to => [ Side Upholstery with Side Airbag, 4-door ] Side Upholstery with Side Airbag, 4-door

- Remove the two bolts - 2 - (9 Nm).

• The bolts are microencapsulated and must therefore be replaced after every removal.

• Before installing the new screws, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.

- Remove rear side airbag connector coupling - 3 - from mount in side upholstery - 1 -.

- Remove rear side airbag - 3 - from side upholstery.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Switch on ignition.


Make sure that no persons are in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
