The update programming procedure in this bulletin addresses the following concerns:

Change phonebook sort order from last name, first name to first name last name.

Update Programming Procedure:

Tip:

The flash process may restart the radio several times during the update process. during the restart the CD may eject and after restart may need to be reinserted into the radio. follow the prompts on the screen.





1. Insert key and turn to the ON position without starting up the vehicle.

2. If necessary, remove customer Compact Disc (CD) from radio, and store in a safe place.

3. Insert programming CD into the radio.

4. Press the Start icon on the screen.





5. Press the "OK" to start the reprogramming.





6. The software update process will start.





7. The CD will eject and the radio will reboot to update the Bootloader if required





8. The bootloader will update. Ensure the power is not switched OFF during update programming.





9. Reinsert the CD to continue the software update process.





10. Once the software update is successful the OK screen is displayed. Remove the programming disc and store in a secure spot.

11. If necessary, reload the customer music CD.

12. Continue to Factory Reset of Phone System.

Factory Reset of Phone System

1. Press the "Phone" button.

2. Press the "Set Up" button.

3. Select "Factory Settings".

4. Select "Yes"

Pairing Customer Phone with Vehicle (if required)

1. Ask customer if they would like assistance pairing their phone with the vehicle.

2. Make sure the vehicle is stationary.

3. Switch ON the ignition.

4. Make sure the vehicles Bluetooth(R) discovery mode is active:

4a. Press the "Phone" button.

4b. Press the "Set Up" button.

4c. Press "Bluetooth(R) Settings"

4d. Select "Bluetooth(R) Visibility"

5. Make sure cell phone is Bluetooth(R) enabled

6. From the Bluetooth(R) menu on your phone, search for new devices.

7. The customer's cell phone should offer a list of devices to choose from. Select the device "VW phone".

8. Enter the password "0000" into the phone. The phone should be connected to the Bluetooth(R) system.

9. If prompted to allow access to phone book on the phone, and the customer would like their phone book available on the vehicle, select "allow".

10. It prompted by the phone to set as a trusted device, select yes in order to enable the phone's automatic reconnection.
