Compass Reading Incorrect (Excludes Navigation Radio Equipped Vehicles)

Condition

An incorrect compass reading can be attributed to the following:

^ Incorrect orientation of the compass module.

^ Compass not properly coded to the correct zone.

Service

Procedure

^ Lower the rear headliner and inspect for loose mounting pad (hook and loop tape) on compass module.

^ If module is loose continue with procedure.

^ If module is not loose, fit headliner and see Setting Compass Zone.





^ Remove protective backing from hook and loop tape.





^ Attach tape to the compass module.

^ Attach tape to roof.

^ Install module. Make sure it is properly attached and it has the correct orientation as shown.

Set the compass zone according to the chart shown.
