Troubleshooting

The radio is equipped with OBD.

Use the Vehicle diagnostic tester under "Guided Fault Finding".

Electronic Anti-Theft Protection

The radio has a anti-theft protection, which operates in conjunction with the instrument cluster. The radio code is stored internally inside the radio and inside the instrument cluster.

After disconnecting the power supply to the radio, it is ready for use and the radio code does not need to be entered again. The requirement is that the first activation of the electronic anti-theft system follows and that the radio is reconnected in the same vehicle.

Use the Vehicle diagnostic tester to get the radio code. The radio card and the label on the radio that were used in the past are no longer used.

The Vehicle diagnostic tester must be online (connected to the network) in order to get the radio code and the user must be authorized to access radio codes.

Electronic Anti-Theft System, Deactivating

Reactivating a locked radio is only possible by entering correct radio code number for anti-theft protection.

Determine the anti-theft code using the Vehicle diagnostic tester

- Connect Vehicle diagnostic tester.

- Select Guided Fault Finding.

- Using the Go To button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:

Body

Electrical Equipment

01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems

Sound System

Sound System functions

Radio code inquiry

An authorization to the system will be requested: Then the operating data, the VIN and the radio serial number will be automatically read out.

The Vehicle diagnostic tester may not be able read the radio serial number when a new radio is installed. In this case, enter the serial number manually. The serial number can be found on a sticker on the radio and is also stamped into the side of the unit.

The Vehicle diagnostic tester will display the anti-theft code.

Manually enter the radio code in the radio.

Electronic Anti-Theft System, Deactivating

- Switch on the radio.

"SAFE" appears in the display for approximately 10 seconds, after that "1000" appears.

- Push the station buttons repeatedly until the correct code number sequence is displayed.

"OK" appears in the display after the four-digit radio code number has been entered.

- "OK" appears in the display when the correct radio code has been entered.

The radio is enabled and is ready to be used.

It is possible to enter the radio code again if it was entered incorrectly. If radio code is entered incorrectly twice, then the radio will lock up for one hour. Leave the radio on and the key in the ignition lock. The process can be repeated again after an hour. Note: Always two attempts, after that the radio will lock up for one hour.
