Headlamps

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Headlamps from two different manufacturers are installed. Removal and installation is identical on both headlamp versions.

• The following illustrations depict removal and installation of left headlamp. Removal and installation of the right headlamp is identical.


• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove the key.

Removal

- Remove the radiator grille.

- Remove the front bumper cover.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the headlamp.






- Remove rear screw - 2 - from the headlamp.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the headlamp forward from the opening in the body.

Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Insert the three guides on the headlamp into the bottom - arrows - of the guide piece and slide it into the opening in the body.






- Install the 3 screws - arrows - first.






- Then install the screw - 2 - on the bottom of the headlamp.






- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ Halogen Headlamps Overview, from MY 10 ] Halogen Headlamps Overview, from MY 10.

- Make sure the gap around the headlamp is even all the way around.

If the gap is uneven, then adjust the headlamp installed position. Refer to => [ Halogen Headlamps, Installation Position, from MY 10 ] Halogen Headlamps, Installation Position, from MY 10.

- Check headlamp for functions.

- Check and adjust the headlamp adjustment.
