After activating the transportation safeguard, the internal CD changer is in the transportation position.

Activating Transportation Safeguard

Unit condition: ON. The wire connections must be connected to the radio.

Electronic Anti-Theft Protection

The radio has an anti-theft protection, which operates in conjunction with the instrument cluster. The radio code is stored internally inside the radio and inside the instrument cluster.

After disconnecting the power supply to the radio, it is ready for use and the radio code does not need to be entered again. The requirement is that the first activation of the anti-theft system follows and that the radio is reconnected in the same vehicle.

Use the Vehicle diagnostic tester to get the anti-theft code.

The Vehicle diagnostic tester must be online (connected to the network) to get the radio code and the user must be authorized to access radio codes.

Electronic Anti-Theft System, Deactivating

Reactivating a locked radio is only possible by entering correct radio code for electronic anti-theft protection.

Determine the anti-theft code using the Vehicle diagnostic tester

- Connect Vehicle diagnostic tester.

- Select Guided Fault Finding.

- Using the Go To button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:

Radio code inquiry

An authorization to the system will be requested: Then the operating data, the VIN and the radio serial number will be automatically read out.

The Vehicle diagnostic tester may not be able read the radio serial number when a new radio is installed. In this case, enter the serial number manually. The serial number can be found on a sticker on the radio and is also stamped into the side of the unit.

The Vehicle diagnostic tester will display the anti-theft code.

Manually enter the anti-theft code in the radio.

Electronic Anti-Theft System, Deactivating

- Switch on the radio.

An entry mask appears.

- Enter the correct radio code using the buttons on the radio.

- Confirm by pressing the input button.

The radio is enabled and is ready to be used.

Use the correction screen to erase an incorrect code.

If the wrong code number was entered when overriding the electronic anti-theft protection, first "SAFE" blinks in the display and "1000" appears again. You can now repeat the entire procedure one more time. The number of tries is shown in the display. If a wrong code number is entered again, the radio will lock up for approximately one hour. This lock is indicated by the word "SAFE" appearing continuously in the display. After one hour, then the procedure for deactivating the anti-theft system can be repeated. Keep in mind: Always two attempts, after that the radio will lock up for one hour.
