Clutch Overview
• Make sure the alignment sleeves for centering the engine and transmission are installed in the cylinder block. Install them if necessary.
• If the alignment sleeves are missing, it will be difficult to shift, there will be clutch problems and the transmission may make noises (loose rattling).
1 Dual Mass Flywheel
• Make sure it fits securely on the alignment sleeves.
• Keep the clutch lining contact surface free of grooves, oil and grease.
2 Clutch Disc
• Allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch ] Service and Repair.
• Only replace together with the SAC pressure plate.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Clutch Disc Installed Position ] Service and Repair.
3 SAC Pressure Plate
• SAC = "Self Adjusting Clutch"
• Only replace together with the clutch disc.
• Allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch ] Service and Repair.
• Checking the ends of the diaphragm spring. Refer to => [ Checking the Ends of the Diaphragm Spring ] Service and Repair.
• Checking the spring and rivet connections. Refer to => [ Checking the Spring and Rivet Connections ] Service and Repair.
4 Bolt
• M6: 13 Nm
• M7: 20 Nm
• Loosen or tighten in small steps and in a diagonal sequence.
