Wheel Bearing and Drum Brake Overview






1 Axle Beam

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Axle Beam ] Axle Beam.

2 Stub Axle

• Straightening operations are not allowed.

• Recutting the thread is not allowed!

3 Brake Carrier with Brake Shoes

4 Bolt

• 30 Nm + 90° turn

• Always replace if removed.

5 Wheel Hub with Wheel Bearing

• Sensor ring for ABS is installed in wheel hub.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing/Wheel Hub, Vehicles with Drum Brakes ] Wheel Bearing/Wheel Hub, Vehicles with Drum Brakes.

• The wheel bearing and wheel hub are in a single housing.

• This wheel hub/wheel bearing is maintenance and adjustment free. Adjusting or servicing is not possible!

6 Bolt

• Self-locking

• 180 Nm + 90° turn

• Always replace if removed.

7 Dust Cap

• Always replace if removed.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing/Wheel Hub, Vehicles with Drum Brakes ] Wheel Bearing/Wheel Hub, Vehicles with Drum Brakes.

• An appropriate seal can only be achieved with a new dust cap.

• Only then is an optimum function and long service life of the wheel bearing guaranteed.
