5 O-ring

• no replacement part

6 Locking bolt, 15 Nm

• no replacement part

7 Cylinder head bolt

• Replace

• Sequence for loosening and tightening => [ Cylinder Head, Removing and Installing ] Cylinder Head, Removing and Installing, Cylinder head, removing and installing

8 Connecting piece

• Coolant hose connection diagram => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System

9 9 Nm

10 O-ring

• Replace

11 20 Nm

12 Lifting eye

13 Cylinder head gasket

• Replace

• After replacing replace entire amount of coolant

14 15 Nm

15 20 Nm

16 Rear toothed belt guard

17 Toothed belt

• Mark direction of rotation before removing

• Check for wear

• Do not kink

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Toothed Belt, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

18 Cylinder head

• Check for distortion => [ Checking cylinder head for distortion ]

• Resurfacing sealing surfaces => [ Cylinder head - sealing surface, resurfacing ] Service and Repair

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Cylinder Head, Removing and Installing ] Cylinder Head, Removing and Installing

• After replacing replace entire amount of coolant

19 Oil separator

20 Cylinder head cover gasket

• Replace if damaged

• Before installing, coat the bearing cover/cylinder head contact surfaces with (D 454 300 A2)

21 Cylinder head cover

• With wiring guides

22 10 Nm

23 Gasket

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Straight edge

• Feeler gauge

• Permissible distortion: 0.1 mm

Minimum distance of the linear surface: 100 mm
