Subframe Mount, Adjusting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine support bridge (10-222 A)






Engine Support Basic Set (T40091)






Perform the following:

- Remove the air filter. Refer to => [ Air Filter, Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the battery and the battery tray.

- Remove the plenum chamber cover.

- Remove the radiator grille.

- Install the engine support bridge (10 - 222 A) and support the engine and the transmission.

- Replace the engine mount bolts - arrows - one after the other and hand-tighten them. Does not apply if the bolts were replaced when the engine was installed.






- Replace the transmission support bolts - arrows - one after the other and hand-tighten them. Does not apply if the bolts were replaced when the engine was installed.






- Loosen the bolts on the engine side and transmission side of the support arm approximately 2 turns.

- Move the engine/transmission subassembly so that the following dimensions on the engine mount are established:






The clearance between the engine support - 2 - and the right longitudinal member must be - a - = 10 mm.

Casting edge on engine support - 2 - must stand parallel to bracket - 1 -.

Dimension - x - must be the same in the front and in the rear.

Distance - a - = 10 mm can be checked, for example, using a suitable round stock.

- Adjust the transmission mount.






The edges of the support arm - 1 - and the transmission mount - 2 - must be parallel.

Dimension - x - must be the same in the front and in the rear.

- Tighten the subframe mount bolts => [ Subframe Mount Tightening Specifications ] Subframe Mount Tightening Specifications.

Further installation is in the reverse sequence to removal.
