Headlamp

• The following illustrations depict removal and installation of left headlamp. Removing and installing the right headlamp is identical.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)


• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove the key.

Removing

- Remove front bumper cover.

- Unlock and disconnect the connector from the headlamp.

- Remove the rear screw - 3 - from the headlamp.






- Remove the front screw - 1 - from the headlamp.

- Remove the top screw - 2 - from the headlamp.

- Remove the headlamp forward from the opening in the body.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- First install the upper screw - 2 -.






- Then install the screw - 1 - on the front of the headlamp.

- Then install the screw - 3 - on the bottom of the headlamp.

- Connect and lock the connector to the headlamp.

- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ HID Headlamps and Cornering Lamp Overview, from MY 12 ] HID Headlamps and Cornering Lamp Overview, from MY 12.

- Make sure the gap around the headlamp is even all the way around.

Adjust the headlamp if the gap is uneven. Refer to => [ Headlamps, Correcting Installation Position ] Headlamps, Correcting Installation Position.

- Check headlamp for functions.

- Check the headlamp adjustment and adjust, if necessary. Refer to => [ HID Headlamp, Adjusting ] HID Headlamp, Adjusting.
