Fuel Tank, Assembly Overview






1 Bolt

2 Ground connection

• Make sure it is secure

3 11 Nm

4 Rivet

5 Protective plate

• Riveted to lower clamp at factory

• If replacing the fuel tank, position the protective plate on the filler tube and rivet the clamp. The holes in the protective plate must align with the holes on the filler tube.

6 Wiring router

• For ABS line

• Clipped in on protective plate

7 26 Nm

• Replace

• Only use bolts with loose washers to secure the fuel tank mounting straps. The tension straps could twist when the bolts are tightened if other bolts are used.

8 Fuel tank

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Fuel Tank, Removing and Installing ] Fuel Tank, Removing and Installing

9 Lock washer

10 Bracket for exhaust system

11 Mounting strap

• Pay attention to the installed position

12 Heat shield

13 Supply line

• To fuel rail

• Make sure it is secure

14 Fuel filter

• Installation position: The arrow points in the flow direction

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Fuel Filter, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

15 Vent line

• From the EVAP canister to EVAP canister purge regulator valve 1 (N80)

• Attached to the fuel tank

• Make sure it is secure

16 Seal

• Replace

• Install the dry seal into the opening in the fuel tank

• Coat the inside of seal with fuel before installing the fuel delivery unit.

17 Fuel delivery unit

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

• Fuel Pump, Checking, refer to => [ Fuel Pump, Checking ] Fuel Pump, Checking

• Note installation position in fuel tank => [ Fuel delivery unit installed position ]

• With fuel level sensor (G)

• Fuel Level Sensor (G) , Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Fuel level sensor (G), Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair

• Clean the screen if it is dirty.

18 Locking ring, 110 Nm

• Make sure it is secure

• Use wrench (3087) to remove and install

19 Return line

• Blue

• Attached to the side of the fuel tank

• Make sure it is secure

20 Cap

• Replace the seal if damaged

21 Fuel filler door unit

• With rubber cup

• Removing and installing => Body Exterior 55 Tank flap unit

22 To the EVAP canister

23 Supply line

• Black

• Attached to the side of the fuel tank

• Make sure it is secure

Fuel delivery unit installed position





The tab - 2 - on the fuel delivery unit must lie between the tabs - 1 - and - 3 -.

• - Arrow - points in direction of travel.

• The fuel delivery unit can only be installed in this position.
