Steering Lock Housing
Always follow the instructions regarding disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
The steering column switch base carrier must be removed first in order to remove the steering lock housing.
• The steering lock could get damaged.
• If the steering lock is operated without lock cylinder, it will lock up and then it will have to be replaced.
• Steering lock must not be operated without lock cylinder.
Removing
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting ] Battery, Disconnecting.
- Remove the steering column switch mount:
• Vehicles with access/start control module (KESSY), refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Mount, Valeo ] Steering Column Switch Mount, Valeo or => [ Steering Column Switch Mount, Kostal ] Steering Column Switch Mount, Kostal.
• Vehicle with an Ignition Switch (D) and a lock cylinder, refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Mount, Valeo ] Steering Column Switch, Without KESSY Overview, Valeo or => [ Steering Column Switch Mount, Kostal ] Steering Column Switch, Without KESSY Overview, Kostal.
