Windshield Wiper System

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Pry Lever (80-200)

• Puller (T10369)


When disconnecting and connecting the Battery, the procedure must be followed as described in the repair information. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Procedure

- Deactivate the APP function. Refer to => [ Wiper Motor Control Module (J400), Deactivating APP Function ] Testing and Inspection.

- Let the wiper return to its park position and then turn off the ignition.

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove wiper arms, refer to => [ Wiper Arms ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Flush-Bonded Window in

- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the wiper frame - 2 - from the vehicle.

Windshield Wiper Motor (V) in Wiper Frame, installing, refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Motor (V) ] Service and Repair.

- Install the wiper frame in the reverse order.

- Tighten the threaded connections to the tightening specification. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.

- Connect the connector to the windshield wiper motor (V).

- Install the plenum chamber cover. Refer to Flush-Bonded Window in

- Connect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Connecting ] Battery, Connecting.

Install the wiper arms. Refer to => [ Wiper Arms ] Service and Repair.
