Transmission, Securing to the Engine and Transmission Holder

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Holding Fixture (VW 313)

• Holding Fixture (VW 540)

• Engine and Transmission Holder (VAS 6095)

Procedure






• Drain the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Testing and Inspection.

- Attach the transmission to the holding fixture (VW 540) - arrows -.

- Install the transmission using the shop crane - load cap = 700-1200 KG (VAS 6100) into the holding fixture (VW 313) or the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).


The center of gravity of the transmission is outside the center of rotation of the holding fixture. To prevent back swing, a second technician must hold the transmission housing when rotating the transmission in the holding fixture (VW 313).
