Instrument Cluster, from MY 10
Before removing the instrument cluster, perform the => [ Instrument Cluster, Replacement ] Instrument Cluster, Replacement procedure to read out the data saved in the Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285).
• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.
• Remove the key.
Removal
• It is not necessary to remove the steering wheel.
- Pull the steering wheel all the way out and then lower as far down as it will go.
- Remove the upper section of the steering column trim.
- Remove the bolts - arrows -.
- Pull the instrument cluster back out of the instrument panel while being careful of the connected wires.
- Move the securing clip - 1 - in - direction of arrow - and disconnect the connector - 2 -.
- Remove the instrument cluster from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Tighten the threaded connections to 1.5 Nm.
