Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Component Overview
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)
• Always replace self-locking nuts, seals, gaskets and clamps. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
• Hoses are secured with spring-type clips.
• Hose clip pliers (VAS 6362) or (VAS 6340) are recommended for installing spring type clamps.
1 Gasket
• Always replace.
• Note the installed position.
2 Connecting Pipe
• To remove and install, also loosen the connections on the turbocharger.
3 to the Connection on the Turbocharger
• See - item 33 - in the => [ Turbocharger and Exhaust Manifold with Attachments Overview ] Turbocharger and Exhaust Manifold with Attachments Overview.
4 Seal
• Replace if damaged.
5 Bolt
• 8 Nm
6 Cooler
• For the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system.
7 Nut
• 23 Nm
• Installed on the stud bolt on the turbocharger.
8 Control Line
• 23 Nm
• Do not change the angles of the control line.
• To the exhaust pressure sensor 2, refer to the following:
• Engine code CJAA, refer to => [ Particulate Filter with NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter Overview ] Particulate Filter with NOx Reduction Catalytic Converter Overview.
• To loosen at the housing, remove the EGR filter - item 9 -.
• Install without tension.
9 Filter
• For the EGR system.
10 Nut
• 23 Nm
• Secure on the exhaust manifold with the heat shield.
11 to the Particulate Filter
12 Clamp
• 3.5 Nm
• Always replace.
• Note the installed position, refer to => [ Clamps and Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor, Installed Position ] Clamps and Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor, Installed Position.
13 Bolt
• 23 Nm
14 Valve 2 for EGR (N213)
• Mark the installed position before removing.
• Always clean the fitting area on the valve and housing and lubricate lightly if necessary.
15 Coolant Hose
• Check the hose for secure seating.
• Coolant hose connection diagram. Refer to => [ Coolant Hose Connection Diagram ] [1][2]Cooling System.
16 Housing
• For the EGR system.
17 EGR Temperature Sensor (G98)
• 20 Nm
• Cut off the gasket and replace if it is damaged or leaks.
• Follow the tightening specification.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ EGR Temperature Sensor G98 ] EGR Temperature Sensor G98.
