Fuel Supply System

Fuel lines are under pressure.

Danger of personal injury to eyes and skin.

Wear safety glasses and protective clothing in order to avoid injury and contact with the skin. Wrap a cloth around the connection before removing a fuel hose. Open the connection carefully and release the pressure.

To prevent personal injury and damage to the injection and pre-glow system, observe the following:

• The ignition must be turned off before connecting or disconnecting injection and pre-glow system wiring or test cables.

• Only clean the engine with the ignition turned off.

• If the connectors were disconnected and the engine was started, then malfunctions have been stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory. Refer to Check DTC memory in Vehicle OBD in the vehicle diagnostic tester.

• Make sure to complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.

- Disconnect the battery.
