Glow Plug Control Module: Service and Repair

The automatic glow time control module is located in the relay and fuse carrier in the E-box inside the engine compartment on the left side.

The pre-glow system is controlled by the automatic glow time control module. The automatic glow time control module is On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable.

If there is a malfunction in the pre-glow system, a fault will be stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM).

Checking the pre-glow system is explained in "Guided Fault Finding".

Electronically controlled glow plugs with a separate glow plug control module was installed in order to reach a quick starting function.

Each glow plug is controlled and diagnosed individually.

Removing

- Remove the E-box cover inside the engine compartment - arrows -.






- Remove the automatic glow time control module - arrow - from its location in the E-Box - 1 - in the engine compartment.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.
