Input Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pulling Hook (T20143)

• Thrust Piece (T40008)

• Sealing Grease for Seal (G 052 128 A1)

Requirement:

• The transmission is removed. Refer to => [ Transmission, Removing ] Transmission, Removing.

Removing

- Remove the clutch slave cylinder with release bearing. Refer to => [ Clutch Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the input shaft seal using the pulling hook (T20143/1).






• Be careful not to damage the contact surface for the seal on the input shaft.

Installing

- Fill the area between the sealing and dust lips - arrow - halfway with sealing grease for seal (G 052 128 A1).






- Lightly lubricate the outer circumference of the seal with transmission fluid.

- Install the new seal so that it is flush using the thrust piece (T40008).






- Install the clutch slave cylinder with release bearing. Refer to => [ Clutch Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing ] Service and Repair.

- Install the transmission. Refer to => [ Transmission, Installing ] Transmission, Installing.
