Front Door Limiter: Service and Repair

Door Strap

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• The following describes removing and installing the left door strap. Removing and installing the right door strap is identical.

Removing






Perform the following:

- Remove the front door trim panel.

- Remove the front bass speaker.

- Remove the bolt - 2 - from the A-pillar.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and remove the door strap - 1 - through the opening for the speaker.

Installation






Perform the following:

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing so, note the following:

• Pay attention to the marking and to the tab on the cover when installing.

• Left front door: L top - tab top

• Right door: R top - tab down

Bolt - 2 - tightening specification: 30 Nm.

Tightening specification - 3 -: 9 Nm
