Removal and Replacement






Subframe Overview






1 Eccentric Screw

For camber setting

Perform a vehicle alignment after loosening

2 Nut

120 Nm

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position.

3 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab

4 Eccentric Screw

For toe setting

Perform a vehicle alignment after loosening

5 Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab

6 Nut

120 Nm

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position.

Adjust the torque wrench (V.A.G 1332) to 80 Nm to tighten the nut.

This tightening specification does only apply in conjunction with insert tool 18 (T10179)

7 Axle Beam

8 Bolt

90 Nm + 180°

Always replace if removed.

9 Lower Transverse Link

Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Lower Transverse Link ] Lower Transverse Link

10 Nut

70 Nm + 180°

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position.

11 Bolt

Always replace if removed.

12 Threaded Rivet

15 Bolt

8 Nm

16 Nut

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position.

17 Bolt

130 Nm + 180°

Always replace if removed.

18 Upper Transverse Link

19 Washer

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position.

21 Wheel Bearing Housing

22 Washer

23 Bolt

130 Nm + 180°

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position.

24 Tie Rod

Opened downward (the right and left tie rods are the same)

Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Tie Rod ] Service and Repair

25 Bolt

Always replace if removed.

26 Nut

70 Nm + 180°

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position.
