Tailgate Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Rear Window Regulator

• The following describes removing and installing the left window regulator. Removing and installing the right window regulator is identical.

Removing






- Remove the rear door trim panel.

- Remove the cover. Refer to => [ Door Cover ] Door Cover.

- Remove the door window. Refer to => [ Rear Door Window ] Rear Door Window.

- Secure the door window with adhesive tape to prevent it from falling down.

- Remove the window regulator motor. Refer to => [ Rear Window Regulator Motor ] Service and Repair.

- Release the hooks on the cable drum and slide the cable drum - 1 - into the door.

- Remove the nuts - 4 - and push the threaded pin on the window regulator into the rear door - 3 -.

- Remove the window regulator - 2 - with the cable drum - 1 - the opening in the rear door - 3 -.

Installation






Perform the following:

- Install the window regulator - 2 - with the cable drum - 1 - through the opening into the rear door - 3 -.

- Insert the threaded pins on the window regulator through the inner door panel.

- Install the tighten the nuts - 4 -.

Nut tightening specification - 4 -: 8 Nm

- Push the cable drum - 1 - against the door inner panel until the hooks lock.

- Install window regulator motor. Refer to => [ Rear Window Regulator Motor ] Service and Repair.

- Install the door window. Refer to => [ Rear Door Window ] Rear Door Window.

- Install the cover. Refer to => [ Door Cover ] Door Cover.
