Plenum Chamber Cover

Removing

Removing and installing the plenum chamber cover may slightly differ depending on the model.






- Remove the wiper arms.

- Remove the seal - 2 - from the entire length of the plenum chamber covers - 1 -.

The windshield - 5 - could break. Do not pry off plenum chamber cover - 1 - using a leverage tool (screwdriver, wedge). This could damage the windshield - 5 -, which could later crack.

- Starting at the edge of the windshield - 5 - and working up, pull the plenum chamber covers - 1 - out of the retainer - 6 -.

- Remove the plenum chamber cover - 1 - from the vehicle.

The molded foam part - 3 - and - 4 - remains attached.

Installation

The windshield - 5 - could break.

Using a hammer to install the plenum chamber - 1 - into the binding profile - 6 - on the windshield - 5 - can cause the windshield to crack.






New windshields have an insert in the retainer. Remove the insert before installing the plenum chamber cover.

Press the plenum chamber cover into the retainer lightly by hand. Do not strike it or press on it with a tool.

- Spray the retainer - 6 - with soapy water to make it easier to install the plenum chamber covers - 1 -.

- Position the left plenum chamber cover - 1 - on the retainer - 6 - and then, starting in the middle, press it into the retainer - 6 -.

- Push the seal - 2 - all the way into the installed molded foam parts - 3 - and - 4 -.

- Install the seal - 2 - on the plenum chamber covers - 1 -.

- Install the wiper arms.
