1 ABS Control Module (w/EDL) (J104)

• Component location: On the ABS hydraulic unit (N55) inside the engine compartment on the right side.

• Do not disconnect connector before successfully completing On Board Diagnostic (OBD). Switch ignition off before separating connector.

The following components are integrated inside the ABS control module:

• Sensor for transverse acceleration (G200)

• Rotation Rate Sensor (G202)

• Longitudinal acceleration sensor (G251) (depending on the vehicle equipment level)

• Removing and installing, with 5-cylinder gasoline engine, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit.

• Removing and installing, with 6-cylinder gasoline engine, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit.

2 ABS Hydraulic Unit (N55)

• Component location: In engine compartment, right

The ABS hydraulic unit consists of the following:

• ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64)

• Brake pressure sensor (G201)

• Valve block (contains inlet and outlet valves)

• The ABS hydraulic pump and valve block must not be separated from one another.

• Removing and installing, with 5-cylinder gasoline engine, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit.

• Removing and installing, with 6-cylinder gasoline engine, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit.

3 Indicator Lamp for ESC Off

• Component location: In the instrument cluster

• Refer to the Owner's Manual.

4 ABS Warning Lamp (K47)

• Component location: In the instrument cluster.

5 ESC Indicator Lamp

• Only on vehicles with ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP.

• Component location: In the instrument cluster.

6 Brake System Warning Lamp (K118)

• Component location: In the instrument cluster.

7 Diagnostic Connection

• Component location: Driver side footwell cover.

8 Steering gear with Steering Angle Sensor (G85)

9 Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor ] Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor.

10 Rear Wheel Bearing Unit

• The ABS sensor ring is installed in the wheel bearing.

11 Front Wheel Bearing Unit

• The ABS sensor ring is installed in the wheel bearing.

12 Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor ] Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor.

13 Brake Light Switch (F)

• Includes Brake Pedal Switch (F47).

• Component location: On brake master cylinder.
