Engine, Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. When doing this refer to the following safety precautions:

When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to clearance issues:
• Route lines of all types (for example, fuel, hydraulic, Evaporative Emission (EVAP), coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum) and electrical wiring so that the original path is followed.
• To prevent damage to the lines, make sure there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
Vehicles with a Manual Transmission:
- Grease the splines of the input shaft lightly with grease for clutch plate splines (G 000 100).
- Check and install the clutch and clutch mechanism.
Continuation for all Vehicles:
- Secure the engine/transmission mounts to the engine/transmission, shake the engine/transmission assembly to align it and tighten the bolts.
• Engine and transmission mount bolt tightening specifications, refer to => [ Tightening Specifications ] Tightening Specifications.
• Electrical connections and routing.
- Install the front exhaust pipe. Refer to => [ Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter ] Service and Repair.
- Install the right drive axle and secure the left drive axle to the transmission.
- Install the power steering pump.
- Install the Air Conditioning (AC) compressor.
- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belts ] Ribbed Belts.
- Install the fan shroud. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud and Fans ] Fan Shroud and Fans.
- Return the lock carrier from the service position. Procedures
- Install the noise insulation.
Vehicles with a Manual Transmission:
- Install the shift mechanism and adjust it.
- Install the slave cylinder.
Vehicles with a Automatic Transmission:
- Install the selector lever cable and adjust it.
Continuation for all Vehicles:
- Install the battery and the battery tray.
- Bleed the fuel system. Refer to => [ Fuel System, Filling and Bleeding ] Fuel System, Filling and Bleeding.
- Fill the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Service and Repair.
- Adapt the Engine Control Module (ECM). Refer to "Guided Functions" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.
- Perform a vehicle system test. Refer to "Guided Fault Finding" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.
- End the "Guided Fault Finding".
Follow all safety precautions when performing a road test. Refer to => [ Test and Measuring Instruments during Test Drive ] Test and Measuring Instruments during Test Drive.
- Perform a road test. Refer to => [ Test and Measuring Instruments during Test Drive ] Test and Measuring Instruments during Test Drive.
- Perform another vehicle system test and correct any faults.
