Remote Start






Remote Start

Unintentional or unsupervised use of the remote start can cause serious personal injury.

Never start the engine in closed areas, for example, in garages. The exhaust fumes can cause death through suffocation.

Use the remote start feature only when no one is inside the vehicle.

Keep all persons and children out of the vehicle when using the remote start.

Never start the engine when children or pets are inside the vehicle. The power seats, for example, can be operated while the engine is running, causing serious personal injury.

Never start the engine if the vehicle is covered with a tarp. Hot vehicle components and the exhaust gases could set the tarp on fire and cause serious personal injury.

Never start the engine near flammable materials or materials that could explode. The exhaust fumes can set materials on fire. This can cause serious personal injury.

Never start the engine if the vehicle is not within sight.

Never start the engine if the engine warning lamp is on or is blinking.

It is possible to start the engine remotely using the remote start feature in order to warm up or cool down the inside of the vehicle.

The Climatronic automatically cools down or warms the inside of the vehicle to 20 °C (68 °F) after the engine is started.

The mirror heaters also turn on if the outside air temperature is below 20 °C (68 °F). The rear window heating also turns on if the outside air temperature goes below 4 °C (39 °F).

Conditions For Remote Start

The following conditions must be met all at the same time in order for the remote start to warm or cool the inside of the vehicle.

The vehicle must be in a ready-to-drive condition, for example, the coolant level must not be too low.

There must be no less than 1/4 tank of fuel and the fuel indicator lamp did not come on just before the engine was turned off.

The emergency flashers are off.

The selector lever is in "P" and the brake pedal is not pressed down.

The key is not in the ignition lock. If the vehicle has keyless access, all key still inside the vehicle, must be locked for this period of time.

All the doors, the hood and the rear lid must closed completely and locked.

Performing Remote Start

It is necessary to press the the following button in the key within three seconds in order to remote start the engine.






- Press button - 1 - once.

- Press button - 2 - twice.

All the turn signals blink each time the buttons are pressed. The parking lamp turn on during remote start.

Ending Remote Start

- Press the button - 2 - or the rear lid or door unlock button to turn off the engine.

Automatic Shut-Off Or No Remote Start Is Possible

The remote start will not start engine or will turn off an engine already running under one of the following conditions:

The vehicle is unlocked.

The hood or rear lid is opened.

The selector lever is not in "P".

The key is in the ignition lock.

The brake pedal or accelerator pedal is pressed.

The fuel level is in the reserve quantity range during the remote start.

The vehicle battery is low or discharged.

The switch for the emergency flashers is pressed.

Driving After A Remote Start

It is not possible to drive the vehicle after starting the engine via the remote start. It is necessary to first turn off the engine and then turn it back on using the key in the ignition lock or using the starter button in order to drive the vehicle.
