Radio supplier information

Technical Background

On model year 2012 and newer vehicles the radio part number can be retrieved from the radio without removal.

See the illustrations and instructions below for each radio model.

Note:
15 power must be active (key on), the radio must be switched ON, and tuned to any FM station prior to following this procedure.

RCD310

^ With the radio switched ON, hold
the "Menu" button on radio for 3-5
seconds.

^ Hardware, software, and part
number are displayed along with
the radio serial number.

^ Record information as needed -
there is no need to remove the
radio from the vehicle.





RNS 315

^ With the radio switched ON, hold
the setup button for 3-5 seconds.

^ The normal setup screen will
appear initially.

^ Continue to hold the button until
the "Service Mode" screen is
displayed.

^ Select "Versions" on the radio
display.





^ The "Version Info" screen
displays radio part number,
software level, hardware level,
etc.

^ Record information as needed -
there is no need to remove the
radio from the vehicle.





RCD 510 (Premium 8) and RNS 510

^ With the radio switched ON,
hold the setup button for 3-5
seconds.

^ The normal setup screen will
appear initially.

^ Continue to hold the button until
the "Service Mode" screen is
displayed.

^ Select "Version Info" on the
radio display.





^ The "Version Info" screen
displays radio part number,
software level, hardware level,
etc.

^ Record information as needed -
there is no need to remove the
radio from the vehicle.
