Condition

Possible Oil Leak from Oil Filter Housing

Manufacturing debris found in the oil filter housing may prevent a proper seal with the filter flange, resulting in an oil leak. This debris must be removed in order to provide a proper seal and prevent leaks. This condition may be more evident after an oil service has been performed.

Technical Background

Plastic manufacturing burrs and debris may build up in the seal area of the oil filter housing. This may prevent a proper seal when installed and result in an oil leak.

Production Solution

New tooling was implemented to prevent debris.

Service

^ Clean debris from oil filter housing and reinstall.
