Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair

Fan Shroud and Fans

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Unclip the lower coolant hose from the fan shroud.

- Disconnect the connector from the engine coolant temperature sensor on radiator (G83) => [ (Item 19) ] Radiator and Fan Shroud Overview.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - and remove the fan shroud bolts - arrows -.






- Move the fan shroud downward on the left side.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - and lay the wire free. Installed position of the harness connector deviates from the illustration.






- Remove the nuts - arrows - and remove the fans.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Tightening Specifications
