Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments
Multifunction Transmission Range Switch F125, Adjusting
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Setting Gauge (T10173)
- Move the selector lever into the "N" position.
- Do not bend the selector lever cable.
Adjustment Prerequisites
• The selector lever cable is disconnected at the selector shaft lever.
• The selector shaft is in the "N" position.
• The bolts on the multifunction transmission range switch have been loosened.
• The selector shaft lever is removed.
- Place the setting gauge on the selector shaft - 2 - and turn the switch - 1 - until the setting gauge locks into the tab on the switch connector.
• If the tab on the connector does not lock into the groove in the setting gauge, then the transmission is no longer in the "N" position. In this case, shift the transmission into the "N" position using the setting gauge.
- Tighten the setting gauge on the selector shaft - 2 - using the thumb screw - 3 -.
- Tighten the switch bolts - arrows - to 6 Nm.
- Remove the setting gauge.
- Install the washer - 2 - and the nut - 1 - on the selector shaft - 4 -.
- Tighten the nut - 1 - to 13 Nm.
- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.
- Install the battery and the battery tray if they were removed earlier.
- Install the engine cover with air filter.
