Gear Shift Unit Overview
1 Gear Shift Unit
• Consisting of the gear shift shaft and the gear shift cover.
• The components cannot be separated from each other.
2 Backup Lamp Switch (F4)
• 20 Nm
• Coat the threads lightly with MoS 2 grease.
3 Locking Pin
• For adjusting the shift mechanism.
• Removing, refer to => [ Removing the Locking Pin from the Gear Shift Unit Cover ] Gear Shift Unit.
• Installing, refer to => [ Pressing the Locking Pin into the Gear Shift Unit Cover ] Gear Shift Unit.
4 Relay Lever
• With the cable retainer.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Shift Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift and Selector Cables Overview.
• Lubricate before installing, refer to => [ Relay Lever, Lubricating ] Shift and Selector Cables Overview.
5 Clip
• Secures the relay lever in the gear shift unit cover.
6 Seal
• Pry out with a screwdriver.
• Installing, refer to => [ Gear Shift Shaft Seal ] Gear Shift Shaft Seal.
7 Nut
• 23 Nm
• Always replace.
• Self-locking.
8 Shift Lever
• Install so that the master spline aligns with shift shaft. Refer to => [ Shift Lever, Installing ] Shift and Selector Cables Overview.
• Can be replaced with the shift mechanism still installed.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Shift Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift and Selector Cables Overview.
9 Cap
• For the transmission ventilation.
10 Sealing Cap
11 Spring
• Not installed in all transmissions.
• Install if present.
