Rear Door Window

• The following describes removing and installing the left door window. Removing and installing the right door window is identical.

Removing






- Remove the rear door trim panel.

- Lower the door window - 2 - until it stops.

• If it is not possible to do this because the window regulator motor is faulty, then remove the motor. Refer to => [ Rear Window Regulator Motor ] Service and Repair.

• Then the door window can be moved.

- Remove the inner window shaft strip. Refer to => [ Inner Rear Door Window Shaft Seal ] Inner Rear Door Window Shaft Seal.

- Remove the outer window shaft strip. Refer to => [ Outer Rear Door Window Shaft Seal ] Outer Rear Door Window Shaft Seal.

- Pry the cap - 3 - out.

- Lift the door window - 2 - just enough until the expanding pin - 5 - and the spreader plug - 4 - are accessible in the opening for the window regulator - 6 -.

- Install a 5 mm bolt (approximately 70 mm long) into the expanding pin - 5 - and pull out from spreader plug - 4 -.

- Now screw in a 8 mm bolt (approx. 80 mm long) into spreader plug - 4 -.

• Do not apply excessive pressure on the plug when installing the bolt into the plug. Otherwise the spreader plug will inside the door - 1 -.

- Remove the spreader plug - 4 - from window regulator guide and thereby from door window.






- Remove the door window - 1 - from the window regulator - 3 - - arrows a -.

- Remove the door window - 1 - at an angle and upward - arrows b - from the rear door window shaft - 2 -.

Installation

• Replace the spreader plug - 3 - and the expanding pin - 4 - whenever performing any work on the door window - 1 -

• Check the door window - 1 - for damage before installing the spreader plug - 3 - and the expanding pin - 4 -.






- Install the spreader plug - 3 - with the door window removed - 1 - and center it.

- Press in spreader pin - 4 - flush into spreader plug - 3 -.

- Insert the corner of the door window - 1 - 10 mm into the window shaft - arrow a -.

- Turn the door window - 1 - and insert it into the window guide - arrow b -.

- Push the door window - 1 - down - arrow c - until it latches into the mount - 5 - on the window regulator.

Install in reverse order of removal.
