Rear Window Guide






Rear Window Guide

The following describes removing and installing the left window guide. Removing and installing the right window guide is identical.

Do not bend the window guide when removing it.

Removing






- Remove the rear door trim panel.

- Remove the door window. Refer to => [ Rear Door Window ] Rear Door Window.

- Remove B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Rear Door B-Pillar Trim ] Rear Door B-Pillar Trim

- Remove the C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ C-Pillar Trim Assembly Overview ] C-Pillar Trim Assembly Overview.

- Remove the clip - 3 - - arrow a -.

- Unclip the door seal - arrow c -.

- Roll the sealing lip on the window guide - 1 - off the door flange.

- Remove the window guide - 1 - from the door flange all the way around - arrows b -.

- Remove the window guide - 1 - from the mounts on the rear door - 2 - - arrows d -.

Installation






Some models may have a chrome trim piece that may have to be transferred over to the new window guide. For removal and installation instructions refer to => [ Rear Window Guide Decorative Strip Assembly Overview ] Rear Window Guide Decorative Strip Assembly Overview

- Spray the window guide with soapy water to make it easier to install.

- Insert the corner of the C-pillar at the top - arrow c -. Push the window guide - 1 - onto the door flange - arrow b - at the same time.

- Push the half-installed clip - 3 - into the hole in the door inner panel until the clip is at least flush with the molded part.

- Push the molded corner at the top of the B-pillar onto the door flange.

- Install the B-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Front Window Regulator Motor ] Service and Repair.

- Push the window guide - 1 - into the B-pillar trim - arrow b -.

- Install the door window. Refer to => [ Rear Door Window ] Rear Door Window.

- Install the C-pillar profile working down - arrow b -.

- Install the C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ C-Pillar Trim Assembly Overview ] C-Pillar Trim Assembly Overview.

- Install the window guide - 1 - into the C-pillar trim and into the window shaft on the C-pillar.

- Fold up the sealing lip on the window guide from the inside starting from the B-pillar up to the door flange - arrow d -.

Make sure the window guide - 1 - fits evenly when installing it (wind noises).

Install in reverse order of removal.
